Yup, you read it right. ChatMamba has decided to move away from buttons and replace them with Polls. This decision was made after thorough discussions and studies. It is the best option for the system and everyone using it in the long run.
Why the change?
If you’re not sure what a button is, this is what it looks like in the Flow:
Buttons are known to increase customer response rates, as tapping a button is easier than typing a message. They have helped many of our customers engage better with their users.
However, due to changes in WhatsApp, buttons have become unreliable, often failing to send. When this happens, the message accompanying the buttons is not sent either, leading to a poor experience, as it appears the bot isn’t sending anything.
Polls, on the other hand, are much more reliable. They can be sent without issue and function similarly to buttons. Customers can vote on one of the Poll options, just as they would tap a button.
How does it affect me?
If your bot has been upgraded to a newer version, you will be able to start creating Poll cards in your Flow. The bot will also stop sending messages with buttons (although they rarely send successfully). This is what a Poll card looks like in the Flow.
What do I need to do?
We have not changed anything in your Flow, so it will continue to function as before. However, we’ve made it easy for you to transition from buttons to Polls.
